WEBVTT
Hey, what's up everybody?
Gene Fetty back at you with
another episode of our all
access podcast from the
Automotive Appearance Institute.
This is number thirty eight
and we're going to have a
little bit of tool talk.
So you can see I've got a
little bit of a setup going on tonight.
If you're on video,
I guess you can see if you're on audio.
Hi, I've got some bunch of stuff set up.
You're gonna wanna go check
out the YouTube video of this.
Anyways,
we've got the overhead camera set up.
I'm actually doing a little
bit of testing for our live
stream set up for the Hale Expo,
which is coming up.
uh in st louis in just a
couple of weeks less than
three weeks out now uh july
eighteenth uh in the
evening is our meet and
greet networking event and
july nineteenth all day
from nine a.m to I believe
six p.m a whole lineup of
speakers tool companies uh
man it's going to be a
great event absolutely free
to attend you show up
you're there no entry to get
in nothing like that.
You do need to go on over to
hail expo.com and claim
your free ticket for your seat.
And if you're going to stay at the hotel,
we've got a discounted rate,
which is right here.
Discounted rate code is RHCS.
No idea what all that stands for,
but just punch it in.
Get your codes.
Get to St.
Louis.
We want to see you there.
Go back one episode, and myself, Noah,
and Ryan all talk about
everything that's going on,
what's going to happen there,
and all that good stuff.
So...
That is it.
I am also gearing up for the
GPR PDR competition at Cam
Auto in Montreal, July,
in a couple of weeks.
Eleven is the open house.
Twelve and thirteen is the
competition with the gala
the evening of the thirteenth.
All ten competitors have been announced.
Head on over to Cam Auto Pro
and check that out.
It's going to be very, very cool.
I'm super excited.
And I'm not going to lie,
a little nervous to compete.
It's going to be an awesome time for sure.
So what I want to talk about
is or what I want to do is
it's sort of midseason season.
It is, I think, July first.
Yep.
It's July first when I'm recording this.
So we are right at the
halfway point of the year.
There's always a big push
for tools at the end of the year,
maybe even the tools, you know,
Black Friday ish.
And then certainly heading into MTE,
which would be the beginning of the year.
But I'm at mid season, mid busy season.
I've been pulled back out on the route.
jake left and went back to
ohio with his family to get
his girls closer to
grandparents started his
own gig so I am back out on
the route so I'm doing some
route stuff we had a hail
storm we had a good uh
three months of really
solid busy hail work which
was spectacular and a
little chaotic go back a
few more episodes and you
can hear that frustration but
But I wanted to talk about
like the stuff I've been using,
some of the new stuff out this year,
a little bit of tried and
true and some like quote
unquote boring things that
have been really great to add to my mix.
Anyways, without further ado,
let's talk about some tools.
So this light,
the first thing I want to
talk about is let's switch over here.
is the new pocket light from Illimident,
right?
I got to see the prototype
of this light last year at
the ABAT show in Texas with Anson.
And man, I was geeked out.
It was a really big upgrade
from the previous pocket lights,
pocket light that was on the market.
The old lights, like from Pro PDR,
were bought a cool or a warm.
This is great because this
is warm or cool all in one light.
Dimmable.
Dimmable if you go down on
the dimming side and bright in the bulb.
up and down anyways great
light uh this light uh is
also magnetic on the back
but it's got that ring I
know there's been some
issues with this adhesive
coming off if you get the
suction cup uh from anson I
got one off of biggs on the
truck give you a
replacement ring and put on
here I also did not bring
it with me to the show
tonight but I have a
suction cup phone mount
like from amazon that I
don't need the ring it will
mount to the magnet on the
back side of the light and
it works great this light
let's get back on the
camera here this light
has just proven to be fantastic.
I feel like the, well,
you're not gonna see it on camera.
The line itself on the Pro
PDR was very soft.
Now that's great.
I mean,
these are truly designed to see
down into deep dents.
That's where they shine, pun intended.
It's where they shine the
most is to see down into
deep dents and really soft
is all you need to be able to see that.
These are so sharp.
We had a bunch sent up for
the level up class.
Been using in the shop with
hail out on the road.
The line,
the reflection on here is
actually sharp enough and
well-defined enough that
you can fix a small door ding with it,
right?
It's no longer just an
inspection light or just a
deep dent light.
This new pocket light, man,
has become a go-to
I think all of my guys have one now.
Really an awesome, awesome light.
I know it's been a big hit
across the board.
And again,
other than that little adhesive
failure there and the new
adhesive ring comes with
the suction cup anyways, right?
You are good to go.
Great build.
I've dropped it quite a few times.
I think I've only charged it
twice all season and I have
been putting this thing
through an absolute workout.
So hats off to...
James Lee over at Alimident
and the Anson crew.
This is a great light.
And you can also charge it there.
It's got a flashlight.
I guess that's a little added bonus.
Little flashlight if you
need another little inspection light.
That thing has really been
an absolute go-to for me, right?
Totally digging it.
Let's keep moving down.
the line.
Actually,
let's let's take a little turn
and talk window guards,
because that's exciting, right?
I don't think I can switch.
Yeah, it's sort of gonna,
I'm not gonna switch cameras for you.
So I've got two window guards that I love.
Now.
I know we've talked about this one.
This is the carbon fiber VIP window guard.
this thing.
I got this off of Peter
right when they first came
out at the PDR Expo in Vegas last year.
Speaking of which, PDR Expo is September,
the nineteenth and twentieth.
Head on out there.
Come see me talk.
Come see Noah talk.
I'll be speaking both days.
Anyways, this carbon fiber
window guard, super strong.
It weighs nothing at all.
And I love how thin it is.
Even sliding down, you know,
like tight German windows,
this thing slides right in.
I even feel confident enough
that I will push on
laminated glass with this.
That's a personal approach.
Use that at your own risk.
But this thing is fantastic.
I'm sure that's available
over at VIP PDR Tools.
Oh, back to the light, right?
Alimident Tools and AnsonPDR.com for that.
Or see your local Anson
truck or come out to the
Hale Expo and pick one up
off of the Anson truck at the Expo.
The other window guard that
I didn't even know was a thing,
but I had started, I'm a packout guy.
I started storing this, right?
Just sliding it into the
drawers of the packout.
And then I don't remember if
I heard it on the
Dentslayer podcast or where
I caught it at,
but Dentslayer has a packout
window guard right it is
metal it's not heavy metal
uh it's not like the we've
got the finesse one in the
shop or when we really need
to protect a window that is
like super thick and heavy
duty but this is a nice
metal uh window guard felt
lined in the back this fits
exactly inside of the um
packout drawer on top of
the packout drawer and you
can lock the drawer shut
and break your uh
break your pack out down and put it away.
And I think it was like sixty bucks.
Like, it's a great deal.
And just the convenience
factor being back out on the route.
I'm like, where do I put my window guard?
I want to have everything
close to me to work as
efficient as possible.
That window guard slides right in.
I can lock it up.
I can break the boxes down,
throw them in the back of
the truck and go to town.
So the window guard from VIP
PDR tools and the
Dentslayer Packout window
guard available on Dentslayer via A-One.
I think that's how that works.
But anyways, you know where to find that.
Up next, while we're on a dense layer kick,
now this is the holdover from last year,
but I know a lot of guys
love the AR-Nine and the AR-Ten.
I tried it,
and I just did not get the snap
that I liked.
I think I need to go back
and try it again with the new weights,
but it just wasn't it for me.
The cold snap, however, has been...
Fantastic for me.
So I'll write the cold snap
from Dentslayer over at
A-One with their tips.
And then this is the cold
glue that I've been using this season.
You're not going to guess
what it is because the
color is wrong here,
but we'll be talking cold
glue in a minute.
Anyways,
I like this because it's got good weight.
I can reach out.
Quick it down, snap it,
you get a hard pull every time.
And then it's sort of up and
resets itself and back at it.
I know I've talked about the
slide hammer before.
Absolutely love it.
I've got two slide hammers
that I use for cold glue.
This being one,
the larger and coming up next, right?
So Dentslayer A-one tools coming up next.
And I believe these are now
back in stock and a smoking good deal.
is the mini,
I want to say convertible
slide hammer from Anson.
Now I have this one set up for cold glue.
I've got the smallest
Sergius tab set up in here.
This little thing is just a killer.
I think we've got three of
these setups in the shop right now.
Man, on, light, wham, hard snaps.
I cannot believe how well this works.
It is just a quick, short throw.
The handle is just heavy
enough to give you a good bump.
And combined with a small tab,
This setup just murders dents.
I actually can't believe
just how sharp this pulls.
I believe these are on sale
at Anson with the slide hammer.
And there's also a tip.
You can do a regular hot tab
in there with this.
A selection of the dead dent tools,
cold glue tabs.
I have those on the cart as well.
And I want to say Sergio's,
a thing of Sergio's glue
and their dead dentals glue
for like two hundred bucks,
one ninety nine.
This thing is fantastic.
I love it.
My son, Mac, loves it.
And Louie, our lead wholesale tech,
loves it.
This is this is probably, you know,
collectively in the shop as
far as speed goes.
one of the best money makers
of the year right here.
Go get you that.
We will talk about cold glue in a minute.
So at Anson PDR,
also over maybe at pdroutlet.com.
But anyways,
it's the mini convertible slide hammer.
I think the kit's one ninety nine.
Check it out.
This thing has been absolute
money all season for us.
Speaking of new slide hammers.
Let's get you switched over here.
Well, in a second, we've got the brand new,
really relatively brand new
Stormbreaker from Dent Vision Tools,
right?
Nick has some shoulder
problems and wanted to make
a slide hammer that didn't hurt so bad.
And this has a spring
built in it,
but it is not like the Kiko or
the Pull Dog where you hit
and then spring and then stop again.
This actually makes the hard hit
It hits and then pulls up, right?
So it's not a impact on your shoulder.
You actually don't feel it.
It's kind of weird on,
call it like medium tabs and ups.
I've really been enjoying
this slide hammer because I'm not wham,
hitting it hard and getting
that sharp pain.
You can get in your shoulder
sometimes when you're
pulling and pulling and
pulling and you get that hard stop.
This thing cushions it away completely.
I'm just now getting dialed in.
I'm a slide hammer guy on rails.
It's a little big for hail for me,
but I've been putting it
through the paces.
I've got it dialed down to a single,
the single small spring.
So the least amount of spring possible.
It's also adjustable.
So you take this apart, take this apart.
We're not gonna do it in the show.
Comes with two springs in it,
a large fat one and a
smaller skinny one that fits inside.
So that's like maximum spring.
um with that I almost
couldn't feel right on
small tabs when you're
coming up and you hit it
you almost don't even feel
the hit and I was pulling
too hard is what it
amounted to uh because
instead of being able to
feel the bump on a light
slide hammer right it took
my feel away uh it almost
doesn't feel like you're
pulling now if you're
holding here and you feel
the pull you can feel it I
mean you're getting a lot
of shock through there
This I'm going to keep playing with.
I love that it takes the
impact completely away from
your shoulder.
I may try it without the spring at all.
I've also, right,
it's also a dual head hammer.
So you can put a cold glue
on the other side.
I also like how this thing happens to feel,
right?
Pulling the other way.
which really takes the
spring out of the mix, but he's got,
let's switch it back over here,
but he's got these soft-ish
plastic washers.
There's one here and there's
one inside the slide itself.
So it's not a hard, like,
it's not as hard of a snap.
It's still, it dampens it just enough.
I do really like how this pulls that way.
right?
Flipping this thing around
and you can still feel a
little bit of the rebound of the spring.
Anyways, Stormbreaker,
if you've got shoulder problems,
definitely check it out.
If you get a chance to feel it,
it is a feel unlike any
other slide hammer I've tried.
I'm digging it.
I want to use it some more
and give you a full breakdown,
full review on it down the road.
Initial thoughts are digging it though.
For sure.
And it's weird.
It's almost trippy to use.
So go check it out.
That's the Stormbreaker from
Dent Vision Tools available at Ansem PDR.
And it's a beautiful slide hammer as well.
Right.
Well built.
Love the machine work.
And the lightning bolts are
pretty sweet too.
Speaking of Dent Vision Tools,
I know I've said it on here
a bunch of times.
Certainly if anybody catches me out,
the shock blocker knocked down,
fell in love with it instantly.
As soon as it was Steve Dice,
when he was working for
Anson handed it to me,
we were down there doing a
class and started to just a
few taps with it and
absolutely fell in love.
I think,
I think I might be up to like nine
of them now.
Like everyone has a different tip.
So I'm not changing tips and
I'm kind of a knockdown
nerd to say the least.
Anyways,
there's been some evolution in here.
Let's switch it over to the
overhead camera.
So this is version, call it version one,
right?
Maybe not the very first one,
but he did give me a Gene
Fetty laser etch on there.
So that's pretty cool.
Thank you, Nick.
So this, right,
the premise is if you haven't used it,
you hold the sleeve on the outside,
right?
And what that does is that
allows the knock down the
center to pass through and
strike while letting all of
the vibrations pass through
your fingers or away from your fingers,
right?
This, this dampens everything.
And you don't realize how
much vibration comes in
until there's almost no vibration,
but I don't know if you can
hear that almost
Loose.
Never bothered me.
But some guys, like Dave here at the shop,
doesn't like how loose it is.
He's like, man,
I feel like I don't have any control.
Not digging it.
Nick listened.
Came out with, I would call it version two,
maybe.
Maybe version two is not the right one.
This is a spring version.
here is what this is.
Oh, and also note, right,
that I've got this like
totally zeroed out.
And at the end,
there's a set screw in
there and you can sort of
adjust how far this goes.
I like to adjust that almost
all the way in and then knock.
I've not done that with
these because this is the
zero gravity version.
So I snake this,
pick this one up at the Anson open house.
This is all magnet driven.
So there are magnets, opposing magnets,
in here that force it to
stay in the middle.
So I haven't actually tried
to move this because I just
get used to holding it like that.
A much stiffer strike.
So the amount of force that
it takes to move this down is, man,
I'm not gonna measure it, but double,
maybe better than double.
You can,
for those of you watching the video,
the blue one,
So easy that moves and fast.
This, you can kind of see that.
I'm trying to go quick with both of them.
This gravity one, anti-gravity.
Zero Gravity, that's it.
The Zero Gravity one is much stiffer.
This has become my go-to with my,
call it like medium-sized
dead dent tools match grade tip.
This is my like all day,
every day knockdown.
I like this, right?
I like that just a little
bit stiffer version.
This has become my go-to.
Now, just a couple of weeks ago, I got...
gonna call it for the sake
of this video for this uh
podcast we're gonna call
this version three so this
is they increase the
springs doubled up on the
springs something inside of
here um much stiffer it's
even stiffer than the zero
gravity feels to be more
stiffer than the zero
gravity tolerances are about the same um
This, right?
Very similar.
These two have become my
go-to two knockdowns.
If you're gonna limit me to two,
don't do that, please.
I have a problem with knockdowns.
This is the Pee Wee from Dead Dentals.
I think this is Dead Dentals.
This could also be a tequila tip.
Don't hold me to which one that is,
but it is a Peewee peak tip.
This is a great setup.
So this is sort of my, the purple,
the zero gravity, this medium one,
that's my all around knockdown.
When I need to go a little bit sharper,
right?
I go to the Peewee style.
These new ones, this, this,
doubled up, quadrupled up, spring one.
They're introducing these,
I guess they wanna get more
out and get these tips out.
A seventy-five bucks with
the peak tip included.
Like I think this tip is
probably twenty-five or
thirty-five dollars.
I wouldn't be surprised.
I'm not gonna go to Anson and pull it up,
but like the tip alone is
worth some money on top of
the shock blocker knockdown.
Nick, I got to give you some props, buddy.
These are awesome.
The evolution of these has been awesome.
I still like,
I have no beef with the original,
but that being said,
feeling how different they
are when they stiffen up,
it feels like maybe just a
little bit more control,
but like the zero gravity
and this double spring setup, man,
hit it out of the park.
Definitely my favorite knockdown.
Again, I think I'm up to nine.
Like I have a problem.
Jim Mitchell may have more than me, maybe.
I've seen a bunch.
We'll have to see.
Maybe I'll go into the real
world group and me and Jim
can do a shock blocker
showdown and see who has more.
Anyways, these things are fantastic.
If you haven't tried them, get them,
right?
Order this one, right?
It's seventy-five bucks for
this with this tip.
you can get rid of that keep
the tip and come out just fine.
Like, man, that's an awesome setup.
Nick, thank you so much for that.
Speaking of knockdowns,
this is an absolutely shameless plug.
But I truly believe that
this could be the
absolutely perfect paddle.
In fact,
I almost call it the perfect paddle.
But
Mark with perfect pull has
the perfect thing going.
Didn't want to mess with him.
Didn't want to step on his toes.
This is my stinger knockdown.
Now this particular one,
if you are watching this live or not live,
I'm not broadcasting live.
If you're watching the video
and looking at the stinger,
This is my personal stinger that I got.
This may have been even
prototype before the final
product came out, right?
I think Craig sent me four
or five of these finished
production units before
they made them all to make
sure it was exactly what I wanted.
And it is.
The reason I'm showing you this, well,
one is because like,
this is a serious moneymaker for me.
But two, admittedly,
not an inexpensive tool, right?
But so much stuff within our
world is not inexpensive.
This is made out of Purple Heart,
which is an incredibly hard wood.
I got tired of buying
relatively expensive
hammers that I was using as
a paddle and destroying the
junk wood that was on them, right?
I was spending...
hundred and fifty two
hundred bucks a year on
throwaway hammers like is
what it came out to so I
went to craig and I said
man I want I want to make
this I want a really light
this thing weighs three
ounces I want a really
light strike to allow me to
move metal the process or
the the kind of knock that
I call a sting I want to
sting the metal down hence
the name the stinger um
what can we do?
And he came back with four
or five different hardwoods.
I really was hesitant on the
Purple Heart for a while.
And then I was like,
we came down to it in
testing and it almost felt too heavy.
In use, it's perfect.
I also am super impressed
with how well this is held up.
Now we've got leather on one side, right?
You can see that that is pretty well worn.
On the other side, right,
is just bare wood.
When I want the hardest smack, right,
that's how I'm coming in.
Is on there, right?
And I want that really hard smack.
Like John uses his metal hammer,
metal to metal, and it's like ting, ting.
This is as close to that
without going metal that I can get.
I love that strike because
it just moves the high spot.
It doesn't drive the metal around,
but look at how well this
thing is holding up.
You know, I've got some marks.
I mean, it's just wood,
but I don't hold back with this.
I literally use it every day.
even, you know,
like beating on the leather.
Hudson Tansey even did a video.
I think it was six months or so after MTE.
And that dude, like,
I thought I was hard on a knockdown.
He's like wailing on this thing.
He's like,
this thing will be junk in a month.
He came back and did a video.
Go check out Dent Gents on
just how strong and awesome
this thing is.
This is available at Anson PDR.
I think they're one nineteen
somewhere around there.
It also comes with a free
class right on Ottawa
Parents Institute called
the Stinger Class.
I think it's up in the top menu.
In fact,
if you're thinking about buying
one or you think I'm crazy, right,
that it's that good,
you can go sign up and take
the class for free.
It's a free class.
Go check it out.
Go to
autoappearanceinstitute.com and then
the stinger is right up at
the top or it's in our course catalog.
It's a free thing.
Check it out.
Take the class.
Watch exactly how it works
and then make your decision for yourself.
So many people that I have
gotten this in the hands of.
This becomes their go to grab and go.
Right.
Even Hudson.
right?
It was a serious naysayer in
the beginning.
He's like, man, I find myself grabbing it.
He's like, it's sitting there.
I grab it.
It's comfortable.
That ball is the perfect
size for your hand.
And you get that good snap
and get that stinging drive, right?
This stinger is a moneymaker.
Absolutely.
Ansonpdr.com.
Actually, Anson PDR for this,
for the shock lockers,
for the storm breaker,
for the mini slide hammer,
for the cold glue, everything.
This is
Anson, Anson's where it's at.
All right.
This table.
Got it.
Got it.
Got it.
Got it.
Got it.
Oh, this tool.
So, uh, let's, uh, no,
this is more of a teaching tool,
but if you're in, if you're new to GPR,
right.
If you are trying to figure it out, right.
Temperature is the number one culprit.
Uh, and, and all my years at Kiko,
we always used, um,
an infrared gun right and
they work great but I saw
these thermal cameras
actually like on amazon
right so a little thermal
camera uh this I don't know
if you can see that I can't
see that far away anyways
it gives me a center number
a maximum number and a
minimum number so when you
look at this in like a uh
with a glue tab on the
panel you can actually see
the heat in the tab
It's perfect.
These are actually pretty cool.
So you can see my hand is there, right?
I think you can see that.
Yeah.
See my hand there.
Now I'm going to take my
hand away and you can see
where my hand was.
Like it's just kind of a cool tool,
but really if you are, that's trippy man,
my reflection on my iPad,
definitely can't see that.
My reflection on my iPad is
generating heat.
That's so cool.
Anyways, if you are new to GPR,
if you're teaching GPR,
if you're curious about
temperatures around your GPR,
the infrared imaging gun thermal camera.
Unbelievable.
And I think it was like
under a hundred and fifty
bucks on Amazon.
This thing has been awesome.
USB-C rechargeable.
So you're not running around
looking for a nine volt battery.
This thing is killer.
Sorry,
forgot to switch the camera over
there and I'm talking to myself, right?
Anyways, check this thing out.
If you're teaching,
if you're diving deep into
glue pool repair, that is an awesome,
awesome tool.
Speaking of glue pool,
talking about some of my go-to stuff.
for this year.
Tension is huge.
It's all the rage.
It really is something that
changes how you repair cars.
But it's not new, right?
I've got a book that was
originally written in the
nineteen thirties,
and they're talking about
tension all the way back then, right?
Just letting metal fold back out.
But this,
let's see if we get this on camera.
The K-Power, in particular,
this is the K-Power Junior.
I know that I have
ranted or raved about these
little bad boys before.
Killer build out, love it.
This is great even for some stretch dents.
And inside of there, right?
I've been a huge proponent
of straps for a long time.
These, excuse me.
My drawer only shuts that other way.
I've been a huge proponent of straps.
And Kiko heard, I'm sure not me,
not just me at least,
that straps are where it's at.
They took and they've
machined out some of their
big tabs and they've
created what they call the tab strap.
These are spectacular.
I have still not created any
collateral damage with a tab strap yet.
I'm sure it's possible.
I'm sure you can get dive somehow,
but this really greatly
reduces your chance for dive.
So they come in sets of two, obviously.
I think they come with the K
power when you buy them.
I've got a pair heated and
bent for working body lines
and another pair that's
just flat for pulling flat.
Tab straps in conjunction
with the tab straps in
conjunction with the K-Power,
the K-Power Junior are absolute money.
They will make you money.
With lateral tension, remember,
It's like seasoning your food.
It's not the main dish.
It's not how we're trying to
do everything.
It is just a little bit of seasoning.
A little bit goes a long, long way.
Fantastic stuff.
While we're on glue pulling,
before I switch to any pushing tools,
we've got a few things to talk about.
The slamming is for dramatic
effect for the people on audio only.
Got to be even interesting for them too.
Cold glue.
Let's talk about it.
So real world, right?
On my cold snap,
it is filthy dirty because
I've been using it for a
couple of months since I got it.
This is the Sergio's gold or yellow.
Man, love how this pulls.
The residue like comes right
off super fast, super snappy pulls.
On our
Anson mini one.
This is actually a blend.
Thanks.
I think it was Biggs for the tip.
This is a blend of good old
school original Glexo and
Sergio's red glue.
amazing combination uh
started dialing that in
last year uh when I was in
a it was summertime working
on hotter cars uh but in an
air-conditioned shop thanks
dan uh anyways had to play
around with it a mix a
literal mix of the glexo
original and the red
sergios together mash them
up mix them together put
them on your tab absolute
money let's look at
what that looks like.
Let's get some of these over here.
We've got some Sergios New.
Sorry, I gotta make it look good.
Here, that's Sergios New.
This is Sergios Red, right?
And some old school Glexo.
If you're not using cold glue,
you are leaving tremendous
amounts of money on the
table and you are wasting
tons and tons of time
And cold glue is absolutely where it's at.
Now,
I'm not saying you've got to go switch
cold blues and change.
In fact,
haven't even used these three
colors from Sergio's
because the gold has been so good.
But anyways, Sergio's red, Sergio's green,
Sergio's blue.
in the folded paper packets.
I think that's what comes
with in the kit from Anson,
spectacular glue.
It's more about just like with hot glue,
learning your cold glue,
learning your temperature
range and where to go.
And as long as you're not in an extreme,
you don't need to worry about it.
So get yourself some Glexo,
get yourself some Sergios Red,
mix them together, try them separate,
try all different kinds of glue, right?
And make it work.
I also have been digging
this Sergios Yellow, right?
So these are great little
silicone containers.
You can see if you're watching the video,
pretty dirty in there, right?
We're cleaning it off.
But I literally have been
using this for months and I
don't think we've used the blue at all,
right?
Maybe I've used a quarter
inch out of the top of the container,
right?
Like it really, really goes far.
The gold,
and I only fell on the gold
because I heard so many
people talking about it.
And I was like, well, let me try it first.
And it has worked fantastic.
We've been in a heat wave.
I need to try the red.
So red, I believe is hot.
Blue, I'm not sure, right?
Go check out.
Sergio's channel and the
green I know is for colder weather,
but the new Sergio's glues are amazing.
I think you can get that at Pilon, Pilon,
PDR.com.
Or if you can't get to him, DM me.
I've got another gentleman
here in the States that can
get you hooked up that
sells this if Anson hasn't
picked it up by now.
But anyways, those are awesome.
I also have been playing
around with Sergio's new
black collision cold glue.
And this stuff, man, it pulls hard.
I mean, it pulls really, really hard.
The residue is still pretty
easy to clean up.
these cold glues.
Any combination of these
will make you more money.
And speaking of residue,
I did not bring my bottle back,
but Willy Quick's Mock Off
Cold Glue Residue Remover.
Dude, it's like magic, right?
When I go out and I'm
teaching some collision glue pull repair,
we get into,
we did like this long crease
on a rail to just rough it up.
Went up,
so what we've got residue like two
feet long, that muck off.
Clean it.
It wipes right off.
It's like magic.
I don't know what they put in there,
but it's awesome.
Shout out to Willie Quick.
That is available at Anson
or Willie Quick Tools for sure.
Excellent stuff.
Get you some cold glue.
Get it going.
Get after it.
Now,
I also know that I've talked about
these before,
but these are moneymakers for me.
These are, again, all day,
every day tools.
We've got the end game from Anson PDR,
right?
The indexable slide your,
Slide on your handle and
then you don't need to
remove it to turn it around.
You just hit button number
two and it allows you to index around.
I keep an extra extension on
there with a rubber ball.
So much less effort on my shoulders.
I hurt so much less, right?
We're not killing ourselves.
This thing is, I mean, it's an end game.
I like it.
I don't know where we go
from here to make that better.
but you put that kind of
leverage on there then that
ease of movement is just
fantastic easy on and off
incredible handle and that
little I think craig said
it's like a fifteen degree
kick that fifteen degree
kick it's just it's just
enough I don't know how I
figured it out why I
figured it out but I
promise you it is amazing then
I want to talk about our
Kratos tips from our buddy
John over at Dent Reaper.
These new Kratos tips, newer Kratos tips.
So it is a thicker, thicker tip.
And it's got a soft round.
I don't know how well you
can see that on the video.
A real polished like half sphere, maybe.
This is such a clean, clean pushing head.
This has become my go-to
push tool down doors,
like my go-to door ding tool.
I also have his set of,
I wouldn't quite call them picks,
but it's like the straight Kratos,
three different sizes,
two different sizes for the doors.
Man,
I love how they push even at some
deeper stuff.
Maybe not crazy sharp where
we're trying to shrink metal,
but like deeper stuff.
It really brings the bottom
of these dents up so clean.
Like, man,
they really remind me how the
hail angels push.
I meant to grab a hail angel
and bring it out here.
If you haven't tried the hail angels,
Get them, just buy them, just use them.
You're gonna love them.
But anyways, it's a very clean, broad,
hard push.
It's not like you're pushing
with a soft tip, but man,
does it bring the bottom of
these dents up super clean.
The Kratos tips, tools, tools, tips,
whatever you wanna call it.
The Kratos tools from Dent
Reaper have been and are a real,
real moneymaker for me this year.
Love the tools.
And John's just a pretty cool, smart dude.
So always happy to support
somebody like that.
Let's see what we got left.
We're getting to the end.
Oh, yeah, this is the end.
This is the end, my friend.
Wait a minute, that's the doors.
So back in
Big storm, big showed up and I'm like,
all right, Biggs,
what do you got for Hale?
He pulled out, it's a two MB one,
which I believe has been
acquired by Carbon Tech and
they don't make all the tools anymore.
But anyways,
it was an adjustable crossbar
for doing SUVs.
And then I also with the
like clicky things, clicky things.
here to slide down in, in a window bar.
And I haven't seen them since.
And I thought they were discontinued.
Well, fast forward to twenty twenty five.
Biggs was here again.
Biggs always seems to cost
me money when he shows up.
Anyways, Biggs showed up again,
getting to the end.
I'm like, Biggs,
you got anything hiding in the back?
Like, what do we need to see?
And he goes, man,
did you ever see that
crossbar from two MB one years ago?
And I'm like, yeah,
I got one from you in twenty twenty.
He goes,
Carbon Tech came out with a new version.
It's available again.
And I'm like, well, I have to have that.
So they upgraded it.
So I originally bought the
hanger bar for SUVs and
then the smaller window bar.
Still use them all the time.
Love them.
Scared to death to lose them
because I love them so much.
Well,
Todd over at Carbon Tech came out
with an upgraded version.
I think I'm gonna have to
show you this on the big
camera and then we'll get
some details on the small camera.
So another adjustable tool
or an adjustable bar for SUVs,
or you could,
I guess you could double window this.
Same fast, I can't show you this,
same adapters.
So the window adapter, right?
Hangs in the window or the S-hook adapter.
for hanging like on SUV
holes and nice and easy.
I'll show you this just to be sure.
Right in and you just
literally slide up and down
to adjust your height.
Super easy, super handy tools.
So why am I so excited about a crossbar,
right?
Just a big piece of carbon fiber.
This is a convertible, right?
So see the push button, see the slot here,
right?
That's how we extend the end out.
Well, we can,
I think this one's just a
touch tight because I
haven't used it much.
We can do a little conversion
right this here push our pin
in the end slides out this
head pops off here and now
we can turn our long bar
into our window bar right just like that
Right,
and now we've got our window bar
convertible into our SUV bar.
Really no different than the
old setup of two different bars,
but it's cool that it's all
in one package, but more importantly,
they brought it back and it's available.
And the old one was maybe aluminum,
kind of heavy.
This is all carbon fiber,
except for the ends like,
You guys know it's carbon fiber.
It doesn't weigh anything.
And it's super strong.
Uh, the also old one also had, excuse me,
an X wrap on it.
And it sort of wears through,
this is all carbon.
You're not going to wear
through that carbon.
So the new convertible
crossbar from carbon tech, uh,
little pricey.
I mean, it was,
I think it was north of
four hundred bucks, but well built.
And then you cannot argue
with the quality of
everything that comes out of, uh,
that comes out of there.
So I think if I look at everything, got it,
got it.
Got it, got it, got it, got it, got it,
got it, got it.
I think that is my tool talk.
That is my tool talk for mid season,
twenty twenty five.
What's your favorite tools?
What are you guys using?
Is there something new out
there that I'm missing that
I should be trying out?
Hit me in the comments, send me a DM,
shoot me a text.
You guys are a really
responsive audience and I love that.
So what am I missing out there?
Or if you've got questions
about any of this stuff, hit me up,
drop a comment, shoot me a message,
drop comments, man.
Let's get some traction going here.
That, that's about it.
Some cool stuff, some great innovations,
some...
Super simple changes that are just great.
The knockdowns, the stinger paddle,
go to Anson PDR, buy the stinger paddle,
sell these out.
You want to make some more, get after it.
Anyways, guys, thanks for listening,
watching, watching and listening,
whatever you did.
I appreciate you.
It's been a crazy hectic year.
Crazy busy last few months.
Thanks for being patient with me.
Thanks for sticking around and listening.
Jack, Stefan, Nick,
thank you for pushing me
last night to get this done.
I almost went out last night
and recorded this.
Didn't make it.
Didn't get up early and do it.
So I came back tonight after work, right?
For a little bit of tool talk.
It's a Tuesday.
You won't listen to this on a Tuesday,
but it's tool talk Tuesday here.

Super excited.
Hasn't been a very easy hire.
We've had a couple of stand-ups,
stood-ups.
Got stood up a couple of times.
I don't dig that.
Anyways, that is coming.
Also keep an eye out.
We are going to be starting a short,
short form how-to series
with lots of tools, right?
Like how to use this bar right here,
right?
How to...
change out the springs in
your slide hammer.
How to use a shock blocker knockdown.
Anyways,
excited for that short series or
that short form video
series to get started.
That is not gonna be a short series.
There are a lot of tools and
a lot of things to talk about out there.
That's it.
Guys, thanks so much for watching.
I will see you on the next one.
Fourth of July weekend coming up.
I'm sure I'll get an episode out.
